PokeSurvivor answers a question nobody at Nintendo ever asked: what if a survivors-like had a type chart? The result, built by solo fan developer JPTER78, is one of the most mechanically rich browser roguelites around - an unofficial, non-profit fan project that borrows the Vampire Survivors loop and the Pokemon battle math and gets startling depth out of the combination.
There is no attack button. Your partner pokemon fires its active move on its own while you handle the harder job: staying alive in an arena that fills with hostile hordes. Level-ups deal three upgrade cards, your partner carries four moves with instant swapping, and the damage math runs the full type system both ways - super-effective hits multiply damage by 1.6, resisted ones drop to 0.6, and weather like rain and snow bends the chart further mid-run. Master a move to level five and its upgrade card unlocks a golden evolved form, from Ember to Fire Blast and far beyond.
Check your active move constantly - support moves like Harden deal nothing, and a wrong tap means your partner stops shooting entirely. Counter-swap rather than tank: switching to the right type multiplies your damage more than any upgrade card. Circle kites beat panic dashes, lava is a free kill zone, and walls stop enemy shots as well as yours. Rush one evolved move early, then spend your ticket income on the rifts - the bond fusions are where late runs get absurd.
WASD or arrows to move, number keys for moves and cards, R to reroll; on mobile it runs landscape with touch controls, and co-op supports up to four players with shared XP. Being a fan game, it is a tribute rather than an official product - but as a free browser survivors-like with an actual type system, PokeSurvivor stands alone on Parodybox.
