PokeBonk: Kanto Turned Into a Horde-Survival Roguelite

PokeBonk drops the Pokemon blueprint into the survivors-like formula and lets the two explode together. You pick a starter, step into a 3D slice of Kanto, and the attacks fire themselves while you do the surviving - weaving through escalating waves, grabbing experience, and stacking upgrade cards into builds that start absurd and end biblical.

Pick Your Starter, Pick Your Playstyle

The three starters are genuine builds, not costumes: Bulbasaur sustains through long waves with healing from grass damage, Charmander turns low health into a damage window for players who like living dangerously, and Squirtle brings armor and a shield that forgive your early mistakes. From there the run is classic roguelite - level-ups deal upgrade cards, new moves and items stack into synergies, and the deeper systems keep unfolding: a full Kanto Pokedex of one hundred fifty-one to capture and evolve, boss guardians and legendary encounters with fury phases, and move fusions that combine attacks into signatures no single pokemon could learn.

Tips for Surviving Kanto

Never stand still - with auto-attacks doing the aiming, movement is your entire defense, so plan an exit lane before the waves box you in. Keep your card picks focused on the moves your starter already relies on; scattered upgrades lose to synergized builds. Dodge with a destination in mind, because sliding out of one crowd and into another is the most common way runs end. And lean on your pokemon instincts - the elemental reaction system rewards trainers who already know their type matchups.

Developed as a nonprofit fan project (credited to community developer Charcher per its fan wiki) that has drawn real press attention, PokéBonk is a tribute rather than an official Nintendo product.
