Farflung is a daily geography game with a twist that flips your instincts upside down: five clues a day, and for each one you pin a country that fits - but the obvious answer scores the least. Rarity is the whole game. Pin Germany for a German-language clue and you earn a modest haul; pin Luxembourg and the scoreboard notices.
Every valid answer pays out distance in tiers - common answers earn forty kilometres, and the rarest tier pays a hundred, up to five hundred per round. Wrong answers, skips and timeouts pay nothing, so under the sixty-second clock there is a real decision on every clue: gamble on the rare pick you half-remember, or bank the safe common one before time burns. Kilometres are points, not map distances, and every round ends with an explanation of all the valid answers - which is how the game quietly makes you better at it.
Never submit the first country that comes to mind - generate two or three candidates and pick the obscure one, because the obvious answer is almost always the forty-kilometre one. Microstates and multilingual countries are goldmines. Read the clue's scope carefully; a single disqualifier like "landlocked" or "island" zeroes an otherwise perfect answer. Zoom in and confirm the name under your pin - misclicks on small states are the cheapest losses in the game. And review the alternate answers after every round; the archive turns each miss into tomorrow's advantage.
Farflung exists in an original edition and an independent edition, and the game's daily format has proven popular enough that both are actively played - this build runs the shared formula either way, with mouse pan-and-pick on desktop and touch controls on mobile. For geography buffs and daily-puzzle regulars, Farflung is a free five-minute ritual on Parodybox.
